At some recent sports shows, several people
inquiring about hunting trips were concerned about entry into Canada
with firearms. Actually, the process is quite simple. It
is a matter of completing a form and paying a fee. Below are
the instructions:
1.
Non-Resident Firearm Declaration Form CAFC 909
2.
Non-Resident Firearm Declaration Continuation Form CAFC 910
Prepare the above forms
precisely as instructed and in triplicate. DO NOT SIGN the
forms until you are in the presence of the Canadian Customs
Officer.
3. $25.00 fee
(Canadian - may be subject to change without
notice)
Be sure you leave the customs
post with a stamped copy of the declaration. Some Canadian
Custom Officer's like to verify the serial numbers of the
firearms, so it is best to have the firearms legally encased but
yet accessible (not packed at the bottom of your gear).

Note For Those Who Fly:
We recommend that
you do not fly Air Canada directly to Winnipeg. Air
Canada now charges $50 (per piece) each way to transport your
firearms. We suggest flying into Minneapolis MN and then take
a Northwest flight to Winnipeg.
